Dayton Varsity Clube Student-Athlete of the Year Scholarship

The Dayton City League Varsity Club will be awarding two Student-Athlete of the Year Awards annually to a male/female student-athlete in the Dayton Public Schools. The annual award honors student-athletes that have demonstrated outstanding achievement in their academic curriculum, athletic competition and volunteerism service in their local communities. Selected Honorees will receive a customized glass etched award and a scholarship. The Female Award is named after former Dayton teacher, administrator and coach Lucinda Adams, who was a sprint star at Tennessee State University and a member of the 400 Meter Relay Team that won the Gold Medal at the 1960 Olympic Games in Rome. The Male Award is named after longtime Dayton educator, coach and politician David D. Albritton, who was an All-American Track Star at Ohio State University and captured a silver medal in the high jump in the 1936 Berlin Olympic Games.
