The Bruce Rahn Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2014 for graduates of Dayton Public Schools in Bruce Rahn’s memory. Mr. Rahn was employed for 34 years with the Dayton Public Schools. He worked in six DPS buildings with his last assignment at Patterson- Kennedy teaching 5th/6th grade from 2000 – 2005. He also taught reading and math in summer school for over 20 years. He tried to inspire and instill pride in all students by encouraging them to build on their successes. He was active in local service clubs with an emphasis on the welfare of children. He tried to make a positive difference in the lives of his students. By utilizing this scholarship it is hoped that the recipients will be able to utilize their talents to help future generations of young people.
