Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship Fund
The Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship Fund was established in 1999 to memorialize this gifted athlete and scholar by furnishing scholarships to Montgomery County high school graduates attending an accredited college or university. Scott Simpson died after lapsing into a diabetic coma while in his sophomore year at The Ohio State University, where he was majoring in rehabilitation therapy. The Scott Neal Simpson Scholarship Fund is a permanent endowment of The Dayton Foundation’s African-American Community Fund. Requirements:
- Resident of Montgomery County
- Minimum 2.5 GPA in a college preparatory curriculum (on a 4.0 scale)
- Enrolled full-time
- Exhibit leadership, including tolerance and respect for others
- Students must have participated in organized high school sports.
