Mary Lynn Dorow Performing Arts Scholarship
Established in 2021 to honor Mary Lynn Dorow who is a 6-year survivor of Ovarian Cancer. Mary Lynn is known for her positive attitude, perseverance, will, fight, strength, teamwork, courage and a BIG SMILE! Coaching a dance team of 65-75 young ladies, Mary Lynn instills in these young women the opportunity to look for the strength in themselves and each other and find positive attributes among all members in a large teamwork environment. This scholarship will provide tuition assistance to one female who has participated in a theatre or dance group or club. A positive attitude is key to overcoming any adversity and Mary Lynn exemplifies this with the people she teaches as well as her family and friends. Her motto is “God gives his toughest battles to his strongest soldiers” and she is ONE STRONG SOLDIER. Applicant’s must:
- Be a graduating senior from Archbishop Alter High School
- Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
- Be accepted to an accredited two-year, four-year, technical school or college or university
- Have participated the performing arts at Alter High School such as theatre, dance or band
- Demonstrate financial need
