Vandalia Butler Foundation - Superintendent B. P. Gibson Memorial Scholarship Fund

B.P. Gibson was a progressive educator and community leader who retired as Vandalia-Butler superintendent in 1975. An outstanding high school and college athlete, he regarded physical education as an integral part of schooling. Mr. Gibson was an avid fan of Butler sports and enjoyed supporting his granddaughter, Megan, who was a captain of the Butler’s women’s soccer team. An award of $1,000 will be made to the graduating senior who is a member of the Butler High School women’s soccer team, is average or above-average academically, and plans to attend a four-year college or university.
