Valley View Schools - Gunter-Stratton Legacy Theatre Scholarship

Dawn Gunter and Michael Stratton were involved in the Valley View High School Performing Arts for 18 years. During those years, they enjoyed being a part of a consistently growing program. This scholarship is to celebrate anyone who has been an active member of the Performing Arts for at least three years and a has demonstrated dedication to the Valley View High School Performing Arts through performance, technical work, or musicianship. It is the hope that this scholarship will benefit a recipient who was a part of a program that Dawn and Mike loved and will aide in their own educational pursuit in the performing arts. Applicants must:

• Be a graduating senior from Valley View High School (VVHS)
• Be a member of the VVHS Performing Arts for at least three years.
• Be involved in the high school musical at least two years.
• Be accepted to a two-year, four-year, technical school, college or university
• Plan to major in the liberal arts with preference for those who major in the performing arts such as theatre, technical theatre, stage management, dance, or music which will include involvement in some aspect of theater (cast, crew, house support)
• Financial need will be considered if all else is equal
• The recipient of this scholarship should demonstrate an enthusiasm for the Performing Arts in both performance and rehearsal through exemplary attendance, a positive and welcoming attitude, acceptance of everyone in involved in the program, a respect for all adults involved, and an interest in supporting the arts in the community and other schools. They should be a champion for the program in the school and community.
