Twentig Incorporated Endowment Fund (Willis "Bing" Davis Scholarship)
Twentig, Inc. established the Twentig Incorporated Endowment Fund (Willis “Bing” Davis Scholarship) in 1990. The purpose of the scholarship is to encourage students to pursue their education beyond high school and to pursue a major or concentration in the Arts, especially the Visual Arts. The Twentig Incorporated Endowment Fund (Willis “Bing” Davis Scholarship) is a permanent endowment of The Dayton Foundation’s African American Community Fund. The Scholarship Committee of Twentig Incorporated is responsible for the annual award. Students being considered for the scholarship will be asked to participate in an interview and to present a portfolio of their artwork at the time of their interview. Applicants must:
- Be an African-American graduating senior from Montgomery County, Ohio
- Plan to major in or have a concentration in the arts. Preference will be given to the visual arts, graphic/commercial arts and performing arts.
- Have a minimum Grade Point Average of 2.5 based upon a 4.0 scale
- Be accepted to a four-year college or university
- Financial need will be considered if all else is equal
- Award
- One $4,000 scholarship ($1,000 per year for 4 years) may be offered annually.
