Oakwood Schools Foundation - Leslie Ann Simms Nagel Creative Writing Scholarship
This scholarship was established in 2019 in honor of Leslie Ann Simms Nagel a 1985 graduate of Oakwood High School. Ms. Nagel is the bestselling author of The Oakwood Book Club Murder Mystery series. She graduated from Smith College and then earned her Master’s Degree in Education from the University of Dayton. In addition to her working on new books, she currently teaches creative writing at a community college. The scholarship is for a senior graduating from Oakwood High School and planning to major in English. Applicants must:
- Be a graduating senior from Oakwood High School
- Be accepted to an accredited four-year college or university as a full-time student
- Plan to major in a Humanities discipline, with a preference given to English, Education, Journalism or Creative Writing
- Financial need will be considered if all else is equal
