Michael Whitehead Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship was created in 2023 to celebrate the memory of Michael J. Whitehead. A longtime resident of Dayton, Michael worked for the Miami Valley Golf Club for eight years until moving to Florida where he continued his career until his passing in 2023. Michael was a positive influence to many while he was in school and all of his life. Michael was a golf enthusiast who enjoyed playing the game. This scholarship is to offer encouragement to others that they too can pursue their dreams and to be an encourager to those they meet along the way.

Applicant’s must:
• Be a graduating senior from Dayton Public Schools
• Be accepted to a two-year, four-year, technical school or college or university
• Plan to major in the social sciences, the natural sciences, turf grass management, agronomy, or teacher education
• Demonstrate financial need
