Ray Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund

The Ray Wright Memorial Scholarship Fund honors the memory of this owner/operator of five McDonald’s restaurants in the Miami Valley. Mr. Wright was with McDonald’s for 36 years, beginning as part of the crew when he was 16 years old. He was planning to go on to college to study architecture following high school, but he loved working for McDonald’s and decided to make it his career. He passed away in 2005 after a year and a half battle with pancreatic cancer. According to his family, Mr. Wright had a strong belief in higher education and would want his scholarship to help others reach their full potential. This scholarship provides financial assistance to current employees of McDonald’s Restaurants in the Ohio Region to further their studies at an accredited college, university or trade school. Applicants must currently work at a McDonald’s Restaurant in the Ohio Region and has been employed there for a period of no less than 12 months. A minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA is required.
