Vandalia Butler Foundation - M. Byron Morton Memorial Scholarship Fund
The M. Byron Morton Memorial Scholarship was established in 2002 by friends and family to remember this former Vandalia-Butler Schools’ superintendent whose career spanned a total of 61 years. During Mr. Morton’s tenure, the Vandalia-Butler stadium was established in honor of area veterans killed while serving their county, the high school’s alma mater was written, and the school’s teams became known as the aviators. Also, Morton Middle School was named after him. Applicant’s must:
- Be a graduating Butler High School senior
- Be accepted to a four-year college or university as a full-time student
- Demonstrate financial need
- Demonstrate academic ability
- Demonstrate commitment, dedication and achievement through involvement in school, community and/or job
- Have a minimum 3.0 GPA
